Our infant room has children between 12 months and 19 months that are in a phase of exploration and discovery.
At this stage, they are becoming more mobile, often walking or attempting to walk, which allows them to explore the environment more freely. They are also beginning to communicate using simple words and gestures.
To support the developmental needs in the infant room, Mak-a-Mini incorporated a variety of structured and unstructured play activities. We encourage exploration, such as playing with blocks, puzzles, and pretend play items like kitchen sets, dolls and farm animals.
Educators use reading and singing songs and nursery rhymes to support language development, while naming objects, colours and people during routine activities to build vocabulary.
Our infant room is called Joyful Jingles.
